How Do You Define Polite Conversation in New Relationships?

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Polite Company.”

Do you ever speak of religion or politics with those you do not yet know very well?

Are your views so strong that you would risk offending someone… or do you go for the safe route and offer “polite conversation” and avoid religion and politics in mixed company with whom you’re not familiar?

It sure is a good way to cut to the chase and get to know what someone stands for, but can be risky. What is your definition of polite conversation?

I look forward to a spirited response!
